No Water No Life: The Power of Water to Safeguard the Quality of Our Cities and Environment

In collaboration with the team from ZEHO Waterfront, Herbert Dreiseitl will share and discuss his inspirations, experiences, expertise, and works, which integrate regenerative processes, demonstrating a portfolio of site-responsive interventions of community-based urban planning, nature-based solutions, and environmentally sensitive engineering in cities in Europe, Asia, and worldwide. Additionally, he will also share his design thinking, proposal, and planning approaches for the Chaohu Lake project in Hefei, China.
The online lecture hopes to inspire and demonstrate a holistic and integrated approach to plan multifunctional spaces. This in turn necessitates overcoming disciplinary boundaries and better integrate all design and planning processes. It aims to help to lead the debate and discussions on how important water issues are and should be in the future for the safety and health of our planet.
