Harmonious Integration between Nature, People, and Water
Preservation and rejuvenation through blue-green infrastructure stand as pivotal principles in the endeavor to create a sustainable environment. Achieving a harmonious equilibrium between human activities and the natural world is paramount, emphasizing the need for a dynamic landscape that caters to various facets of life—providing spaces not only for living but also for working, learning, and recreation.
The design composition meticulously mirrors nature's wonders, drawing inspiration from the innate beauty and functionality observed in natural ecosystems. This approach results in a landscape that is not just an assemblage of structures but an artfully crafted tapestry, intricately woven from nature's diverse palette. This intentional blend of ecological considerations and human-centric functionalities ensures that the environment fosters both preservation and revitalization, contributing to a sustainable and vibrant living space.

Feedback Proposal
This feedback proposal emphasizes integrating nature, housing, and water seamlessly, discussing design concepts, strategies, and recommendations. It broadens our expertise as we explore ways to harmonize the Ulu Pandan Canal (blue) and Dover/Ulu Pandan Forest (green) beyond the site, aiming to create a resilient communal space for diverse resident needs.
Dover/Ulu Pandan Forest is a green gem within the precinct and it also plays a huge role in the green connectivity from Mount Faber Park, Telok Blangah Hill Park, Southern Ridges, Hort Park, Kent Ridge Park, and West Coast Park.
With the future development of 30 km Southern coastline – Greater Southern Waterfront, the Dover/Ulu Pandan forest value adds the extensive green network for leisure and recreational activities and biodiversity connectivity for nature leading up to the Central Nature Reserve and the wider regional landscape.
The expansive existing landscape, including the biodiversity-rich secondary forest and dynamic park connector, sees active use by individuals for exercise and commuting purposes. There is significant potential for expanding the canal to create winding pathways, fostering a closer connection with water.
Presently, the linear park connector primarily serves as a straightforward route from Point A to Point B. However, there is an opportunity to introduce intriguing routes, diverse spaces, and new landscape typologies. This initiative aims to make commuting to work or engaging in physical activities more enjoyable for students, workers, residents, and the general public.
